James Warren

With over twenty five years of industry experience, James Warren is the Principal Environmental Consultant for JWA. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Applied Science degree. James has specialist expertise in:

James has been involved in the assessment of flora and fauna communities across a broad spectrum of habitats including wetlands, coastal heaths, rainforests, dry sclerophyll forests and woodlands and wet sclerophyll forest ecosystems. James has previously worked for the Australian Koala Foundation responsible for the management of the GIS Koala habitat mapping project for the east coast of Australia. James has also worked for the Newcrest Mining Group responsible for the environmental management of the east coast operations (sand and gold mines). As the Principal Ecologist for Woodward Clyde, James was responsible for the environmental management of a number of large quarry and mining developments. He has also been part of a team preparing large environmental impact documents for numerous other large mining companies.

James has extensive knowledge of environmental policy and legislation relevant to development and industry in Queensland and New South Wales and has a proven record of achieving favorable project outcomes.

James has appeared regularly as an expert witness in the Queensland Planning and Environment Court and in the NSW Land and Environment Court.

Adam has 11 years’ experience as an ecological consultant/environmental scientist throughout NSW & QLD. In addition to aptitude in a broad environmental management role, he possesses expertise in wildlife biology and is also proficient in flora & fauna assessments and vegetation mapping. He has prepared baseline ecological surveys, impact assessments, rehabilitation plans, offset assessments/offset area management plans, due diligence investigations, threatened species management plans and environmental monitoring programs for numerous urban development, resource extraction and linear infrastructure projects.

Adam is proficient in the assessment of local government planning schemes, State and Commonwealth legislation, including the preparation of referrals under the EPBC Act, responses to Information Requests, and also the preparation of court evidence.

Adam has managed teams of scientists, coordinated numerous ecological field surveys and authored/reviewed/approved hundreds of technical reports.
